History

THE EIGHTIES

 The origins of the company ZBUD Ltd. date back to the 80s of last century. In the first period the Company produced equipment for gas fires, while being a co-operating party of the company Tamel Tarnów and Tarnów Mechanical Works.

THE NINETIES

Beginning of 90’s saw the change in assortment. ZBUD, that is Zakład Budowy Urządzeń Dźwignicowych (Construction Plant of Lifting Equipment), together with 20-person team begins to manufacture the chain hoists with manual drive, the main recipients of which become mines and shipyards. Market demand for equipment supporting the transport resulted in enrichment of the offer with cranes and gantries (initially mainly driven by hand). The product range was successively increased with electric devices, with ever larger lifting capacities.

DECLINE OF 90’s

Decline of 90’s was the beginning of international expansion. Experience gained when manufacturing structures for gantry cranes and industrial steel frame structures resulted in a bold entrance to the offshore structure industry - lifting devices and service platforms with hydraulic drive mounted on offshore platforms.

 BEGINNING OF 21ST CENTURY

In 2002, ZBUD Company received CERT quality management system complying with PN-EN ISO 9001:2009 standard, implemented and certified by Office of Technical Inspection. In 2009, also under the supervision of the Office of Technical Inspection, CERT quality management system in welding compliant with PN-EN ISO 3834-2:2007 standard was implemented.

 POLAND AS A MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

Polish accession to the European Union in 2004, the associated opening of borders and increase of free movement of goods provides new opportunities for development and cooperation with western, recognized suppliers of components for lifting equipment, and the facilitation of exports of manufactured devices.

 A NEW PRODUCT - THETA

Careful analysis of the market situation and production capacity as well as long-term experience in designing, manufacturing and operating allowed us to make a decision at the beginning of 2009 to start manufacturing our own rope hoists with electric drive of THETA®-series and components for overhead cranes (power systems, end trucks).

 ZBUD TODAY

Currently the Company employs 500 people and has facilities in form of production halls with an area above 15 000 m2.

MANAGEMENT

Company management and development strategy from the very beginning is directed to provide maximum autonomy in action and execution of orders.
The effect are the largest in the region machines processing large-size items, providing the possibility of processing elements with the unit weight of the order of several tons. The company has its own professional shot blasting rooms (3 cabins 18x4), paint shops (5 cabins 18x5 and the surface for painting 2 times 20x15) providing the possibility of drying parts after painting and guaranteeing the implementation of protective coatings also for such heavy duty conditions as marine environment.

TRANSPORT

The company ZBUD carries out the transport tasks, including oversized transport, together with appropriate licenses and pilotage of elements longer than 30m.

QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT

In the department of quality control there are employed independent operators performing magnetic and ultrasonic testing of welded joints.
